Role
The role of the junior developer is to assist in the development of solutions for the various departments within G.H. Financials (GHF).
Objective
To assist in developing technology solutions using either a standard programming language such as Python, SQL, etc., or a proprietary development tool from one of our primary application software vendors, ION Trading, Trading Technologies, etc.
This may also include tools to make the daily processing more efficient or provide business intelligence reports for management, or support bespoke requests by clients, exchanges, regulators, etc.
Reporting Relationship
The role reports directly to the Head of Server Engineering
Core Responsibilities
- Work with the business sponsors to understand the development initiatives.
- Support current technology solutions including K-DTF calculations, ASIC industry funding,
- Assist in the development and support of the following platforms:
- reconciliation solution.
- clearing platform, XTP, iDash, DTS, ARC.
- Risk platform, XTP JANUS.
- Service Now.
Key Skills
- Good development skills with Python and SQL.
- Experience with Python libraries such as Pandas/NumPy/etc.
- Experience with MSSQL and MariaDB/MySQL.
- Experience with APIs such as REST/SOAP/etc.
- Understand and use Git source control, CI/CD pipelines, Ansible, Dockers/Containers beneficial.
- Knowledge of FIX (Financial Information eXchange) beneficial.
- Some knowledge of financial markets, specifically Exchange Traded Derivatives.
- Ability to learn new development interfaces.
- Good presentation skills to present solutions, ideas, or improvements in a clear manner.
- Able to manage and organise work independently.
