G.H. Financials, a leading independent clearing provider of exchange-traded derivatives, has been named as Non-Bank Futures Commission Merchant (“FCM”) of the year by Futures and Options World (“FOW”).
London, 9 December, 2014 G.H. Financials, a leading independent clearing provider of exchange-traded derivatives, has been named as Non-Bank Futures Commission Merchant (“FCM”) of the year by Futures and Options World (“FOW”).
The FOW International Awards are designed to recognise the pioneers of the global derivatives industry across a range of categories and disciplines. In recognition of the company’s growth, achievements and focus on customer service, G.H. Financials has been voted Non-Bank FCM of the year.
While some banks pull back from certain markets in the face of increased regulation and capital charges, a number of non-bank FCMs are picking up the slack. Leading the field among these, according to the judges, is G.H. Financials, which has grown its volumes despite a downturn in derivatives trading last year. Cleared volumes grew by 40% year-on-year and G.H. Financials has expanded its client base in its traditional markets, as well as in Asia and even Africa. One judge said the firm “had taken a big leap forward” this year while another said “I just keep hearing good things about G.H. Financials”.

G.H. Financials offers market access and clearing services on the major derivatives exchanges. The company achieved record cleared volumes during its last financial year and obtained several new memberships globally. Most recently, G.H. Financials received GCM Membership Status at Eurex and memberships at both CME Clearing Europe and CME Europe.
